During imperial-like weather, the deep blue of the cloudless sky in Bad Ischl seems almost surreally beautiful. The counterpart to the “golden cage” of Vienna, from which Elisabeth has repeatedly escaped in order to follow her inner compass. Out of the one-dimensionality of the ceremonial life at court and into the complexity of nature. The credo? Simply be free. Boisterous, uncontrolled, incredibly soothing. Without paparazzi.
